Ericka Wharton

Ms. Wharton is a mother of five children, who have attended the George Washington Carver Community Center programs ever since they were toddlers. Those programs provided educational reinforcements as well as recreational opportunities for her children and they always took away tools they could use in other aspects of life. Ericka Wharton is a master level clinician, and she is a Licensed Behavioral Specialist with the State Board of Medicine. Ms. Wharton has always owned and operated businesses in the childcare, social services, as well as mental health fields. She continues to help her community by serving on many Boards and Committees; Cultural Competency Committee (NASD), Pupil Services Committee (NASD), Pottstown Advocacy, etc. She aims to assist her community with many resources available to them. Ms. Wharton is great with creating programs, activities, and events for the community. She is also a huge asset to the Carver Center when it comes to fundraising and finding grant opportunities that would be beneficial to the Greater Norristown families. She is well – known and networks with many other organizations to rebuild old relationships and develop new ones. Ms. Wharton is also a Certified Lifeguard as well as a Certified Lifeguard Instructor thru the Red Cross. She is also a Certified Instructor in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
