Laura Smith

Board Member

Ms. Laura Smith has been a resident of Norristown for over 40 years. She attended Norristown High School, obtained a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource and a Masters of Business Administration. Ms. Smith worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry (Wyeth/SmithKline/Merck) for over 15 years. She enjoys leading meetings for medical professionals and researching cutting edge pharmaceutical drugs.

Ms. Smith is currently on the board of Norristown's Recreation Center (formerly PAL Center). She enjoys helping with book-bag drives in partnership with Mt. Zion AME Church. She was a member of the Norristown Arts Council and enjoys putting on large events.

Laura is highly active at her church, Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, and holds positions in various ministries such as Enon at the Arts, Photo Ministry and Community of Grace Dinner where she recruits volunteers for feeding the less-fortunate. Ms. Smith truly enjoys helping people.

If Ms. Smith is not volunteering in her spare time, she loves photography, hanging out with her family and friends, and taking nature walks. She is part of running group called Black Girls Run (B.G.R.) and ran the Broad street run 3 times. Her favorite activity in the group is the Hot chocolate run, where everyone is rewarded with chocolate at the end!
