JaLisa Gibson was born and raised in Norristown and graduated from Norristown Area High School in 2019. JaLisa attended Cabrini University and graduated in 2023. She was enrolled as a dual major and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Social Work, and a minor in Black Studies with the highest GPA in her major.  Ms. Gibson is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Work at Widener University with a projected graduate date of Fall 2025.

In addition to pursuing her educational endeavors, JaLisa is a member of the praise and worship team at Mount Zion AME Church here in Norristown. She is the director of the Royal Praise Dancers, a praise dance team consisting of both youth and adult members of the congregation. Ms. Gibson enjoys working with the children in her community and wants to cultivate relationships with the youth here in Norristown. She used her passion of making a difference as motivation to go back to working in the town she grew up, more specifically, in the school district she is a product of. JaLisa is currently employed at one of the local middle schools as a Positive Behavior Intervention Supports Coach and facilitates social emotional learning workshops with different groups of students each day. Her long-term goal is to begin her own non-profit organization to help young people address some of their unmet needs and help them achieve their goals.
